Cruise Ships Are Like Floating Cities– Part 2

For food lovers, cruising is one great meal after another. If you hate the daily commute, you’ll be thrilled with cruise travel. You can walk around the ship to anything you want to do. Keep up your fitness routine at the health club, which is usually on the upper decks.

Keeping fit on a cruise can be a lot of fun, with top class gym equipment at your disposal.  Often, the gyms will offer wonderful views too, so you can enjoy looking out to sea while daydreaming on the exercise bike.  Once you're done with your keep fit for the day, give your aching muscles a soak in the whirlpool, or get a massage to help them unwind.
Entertainment Abounds  On Cruise Ships

Visit the card room, Internet Café, video game room or attend a lecture in the library. Sports are big on board activities. You can find a pick up game for volleyball, try your aim with skeet shooting or participate in some rock wall climbing. When you get tired after any activity, just walk back to the cabin and take a break.

Themed Cruises Focus On Your Interests

If you want a cruise totally tailored to your preferences, check out themed cruises to see if any match your interests – they are offered for a huge number of subjects these days, from music cruises, to cookery, and even Disney themed cruises, or cruises for writers.  Whatever you are into, you should be able to find one that will allow you to enhance your knowledge of the subject, and meet like-minded people.

While wine cruises, and food related cruises, are the most common ones, with special tastings, workshops, and guest speakers on offer, there are lots of other specialised interest cruises.  Singles cruises, for example, offer a chance for you to meet people and enjoy some holiday romance.  One alternative, for families, is faith based cruises, where you can meet people of similar beliefs.

The facilities on cruise ships are vast and varied – with everything from mini shopping malls where you can shop for souvenirs – and pick up things you forgot to bring from home, to translation services for foreign guests, and doctors, just in case anyone needs them.  The idea of a cruise taking you away from civilization is a romantic one, and you can most certainly enjoy some tranquil meditation if that is your wish, but the city is right there, just in case you need it!
