Wedding Cruises: The Ultimate in Romance
Choosing a Wedding Cruise
The first choice to make, when it comes to wedding cruises, is the destination – most wedding cruises operate on normal routes, so you could head to the Caribbean, or even Europe, and get married along the way.
The next choice is the line – you may already have been on a cruise, and have a preference – or even aversion, to a particular cruise line. Different lines aim for different age groups and interests, so browse their brochures and pick out a line that suits you.
Of course, one of the most important aspects of wedding cruises is figuring out the costs. Ideally, you would pay for all of your guests to join you. However, if you do not have a lot of money, you might be able to have your guests come and make it part of a vacation that they were planning to take anyway.
Call the cruise line to find out if they have any restrictions on when you will need to book, and where you can hold the wedding. Some lines allow you to have the wedding on the deck, which can make for some wonderful photographs – others have a ship's chapel which can be used for the ceremony.
In most cases you can reserve one of the restaurants or clubs on the ship so that you can hold the reception there afterwards. That said If you want exclusive usage for your party, then this could end up costing you a lot of money.
Some people hold their weddings on a beach at a port of call of the cruise – this is not always legally feasible, however, as some laws require you to spend a few days at the place you get married, if it is not your country of citizenship. If this law does not apply, or you are able to spend sufficient time there, then this may be something to consider – there are some beautiful beaches out there!
If you are considering a wedding cruise, look at lots of different cruise lines, and try to pick out one that suits you and your significant other. A wedding is a very important event, and the right cruise line can make it a memory you will cherish forever.

Be careful when booking a wedding on an NCL ship due to the fact that the vendor NCL contracts seriously overlooked some important details that any wedding planner should not miss.
The resolution offered from the vendor for their “oversights” wouldn’t cover the costs for a box of toothpicks.
NCL is a good cruise line but they need to source out a better wedding planner. One that is more consumer focussed and not as worried about the money.
Poor value for the services rendered.
