Certainly vessels that cruise the Amazon are not in the 100,000 ton range or class, but many will offer sufficient comforts and relaxation that you find yourself in awe of mans own audacity at cruising amongst the wilderness in this way.
A cruise down the Nile will let you see some ancient history – the Nile is one of the oldest traveled rivers in human history – Ancient Egyptians once used the Nile for trade, and to conquer lands in the far corners of Africa and the Middle East.

An adventure cruise is typically targeted at people who want something that little bit special. The cruises offer luxury, themed accommodation, and then test your endurance, and sometimes courage. Some adventure cruises are simply fun – everyone – passengers and crew, would dress up in local costume, and explore the area. An adventure cruise of the area may take it a little further and take you out to explore the tributaries of the Amazon.
An adventure cruise of this nature is likely to be expensive, as it would need skilled guides, and the insurance costs for such activities would be very high. If it is something that you would find exciting, however, then the cost would be well worth it.
