Enjoy Cruising More — Try Motion Sickness Tablets
Motion sickness is an affliction which affects many young travelers, and many adults too. The symptoms typically include nausea, dizziness and headaches. It can be quite distressing, and makes it difficult to enjoy traveling. The only cure for motion sickness, really, is to stop the motion which caused the feeling to occur. This is not exactly a viable option if you are in the middle of a cruise or long haul flight. If you can prevent the feeling from occurring in the first place, then you will be much more comfortable.
Motion Sickness Medicines
You can find a lot of motion sickness medications at your pharmacy. The over the counter medicines can be quite effective. They usually contain the drug meclizine, which is an antihistamine. Meclizine works by relaxing the stimulation of the inner ear, reducing the motion signals which are transmitted to the brain, and stopping motion sickness from occurring in the first place.
Commercial names for this medication include Dramamine, Bonine and Antivert. All of these motion sickness medications should be taken prior to beginning travel for the most effective results. Because they are antihistamines, they can also cause drowsiness, although some will affect you more than others. Talk to your doctor or pharmacist before taking any of these medications if you have a chronic illness that requires treatment, or if you are pregnant.
Ask Your Doctor
If over-the-counter motion sickness treatments are not working, then you may need to consult your doctor to get some different prescription-only medicines.
Scopolamine is a popular travel sickness medication. It is usually administered in the form of a patch placed behind the ear, which is effective for up to three days. It is a very popular option for people heading off on long cruises. It can also be taken in pill form if that is preferable.
There are also a number of prescription medications that can be used for anti-nausea relief. These medications contain promethazine hydrochloride, and go by commercial names like Anergan and Phenergan. All of these medications can also have side effects like drowsiness, but can be quite effective at preventing the nausea and feeling of malaise that tend to accompany motion sickness.
Motion sickness does not have to be anything more than a mild irritation. There are lots of options out there which can greatly reduce, or even totally prevent travel sickness. Prepare before you travel, and you can relax and enjoy your vacation, without having to worry about feeling ill during the journey there or back.

I used to get motion sick as a kid all the time, and found that tablets helped a little, but they wore off really fast. Only the patched worked for long enough to make it worth using on a long flight or coach ride.
I've never tried the bands that a lot of people swear by - I grew out of motion sickness in my late teens, thankfully.
Still, if you can't get the patch and stuff like dramamine isn't strong enough, maybe it's worth a try.
