Discover And Enjoy New Interests On An Activity Cruise
When you think of a cruise, the image that appears in your head is probably one of someone relaxing on a deck chair by a pool on the deck of a ship, watching the waves, and idly sipping a drink. While that is certainly a major part of what a cruise is for, there is much more to cruise vacations than just relaxing, and an increasing number of companies are offering much more exciting vacation options for cruisers. Discover the world of activity cruises, where you can link up your favorite pastime or hobby on a luxurious cruise to any number of destinations.
Activity cruises are available from a number of tour operators, and you’ll find there are many options to choose from. Your cruise ship will act as a base as you explore seas and countries in the area of your choice.
Which Activity Cruises are For You?
Activity cruises offer you a new way to enjoy your favorite hobby or pastime. They are offered for a huge number of activities – everything from walking or hiking to cookery or golf. Imagine, if you are a hiker, being able to cruise around Europe, taking walks around the most exciting scenery the continent has to offer, enjoying the company of like minded individuals, and not having to worry about planning the itinerary, as someone else has done it all for you.
If you’re an avid golfer you’ll very likely love the activity cruises targeted towards the enjoyment of golf courses around the world. You can enjoy the relaxing journey as the ship makes its way across the sea towards your destination, all the while looking forward to a round of golf in a totally new environment when you arrive.
Activity cruises take all the hassle and worry out of the vacation. The entire voyage has been designed specially for the activity you are interested in – you will visit the right places, for the right length of time, and enjoy the company of people who are interested in the same things as you.
There are also family activity cruises available, which take advantage of ships that are specially designed to accommodate children as well as adults. Playgroups, activity centers and smaller swimming pools for children are all common additions to activity cruises. Make sure when you are making your booking that your required services are included in the total price, or at the very least available at a premium.
It is worth shopping around to find the best deal you can on your activity cruise, but remember that the cost of the cruise is not the only thing to consider. Sometimes it is worth paying a little more to get better service, or more things included – you don't want to skimp on the up front price of the cruise, only to find out that you now have to pay for things that would have been included in the higher priced offer.
Whatever your hobby, it is likely there is a cruise devoted to it, so don't delay – enjoy luxury and fun, on the activity cruise of a lifetime!

What amazes me is the huge variety of cruises that offer different types of activities. Of course golf is a popular option, but there are also cruises that specialize in gambling, spas, dating, weddings, singles, holidays and a whole bunch of others. I bet you could find one that's centered around pretty much any theme if you looked hard enough.

I've never really understood the appeal of cruises. The thought of being stuck on a bat for more of my trip than anything else always seemed a bit pointless. However, activity cruises actually sound like a really good idea. Like you say, being taken from one destination to another to go walking, for example, so getting a vast aray of scenery, sounds like a really nice idea. I'm pretty sure my partner would be interested in a golfing cruise too.
